Yesterday Jane Shilling wrote of 100 Days in the Daily Mail: ‘Saul David has come up with an ingenious approach. He tells the whole story of the conflict in a series of snapshots of 100 key moments… The charm of this unorthodox technique becomes clear as soon as you open the book… A remarkable book.’ Click here for full review

Bookseller review of 100 Days to Victory
Friday, September 13th, 2013
Great review of 100 Days to Victory in today’s Bookseller: ‘Excellent, original take on the war in which acclaimed military historian offers us vivid accounts of 100 “momentous” dates and events between 1914-18. It’s a great device, by which he brilliantly conveys the global scale of the conflict… If you usually find military history turgid, then you must read this.’
First Review
Thursday, September 12th, 2013
The first review of Saul’s new book appeared in today’s Metro. It reads: ‘Saul David has devised an ingenious structure spanning the entire conflict in 100 Days to Victory. Picking out 100 key dates and using a diverse range of voices, he creates a remarkably full picture of the 1914-1918 conflict. There are expected landmarks – the declaration of war, Verdun, the armistice – along with surprises (note the naval battle in the Falklands between Germany and Britain) and vignettes of intense drama, from the execution of a deserter to the final flight of the Red Baron. David’s quotations scream with shrill irony…’
